This website works without cookies, without tracking or analytics services, without forms and without externally loaded fonts. Below we explain which data is processed nonetheless and what we do with it.
As a Catholic association, Gemeinschaft Emmanuel e.V. is subject to the Church Data Protection Act (Gesetz über den Kirchlichen Datenschutz, KDG). The legal bases named in this policy therefore refer to the KDG.

Visiting the website and server log files
When you visit this website, our web server automatically processes the data your browser sends: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the previously visited page (referrer), browser and operating system. We need this data to deliver the website and keep it secure, for example to detect attacks. We do not combine it with other data.
The legal basis is § 6 (1) (g) KDG (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website). The website is hosted by add the hosting provider’s name and address, with whom a data processing agreement is in place. Log files are deleted after add the retention period, e.g. 14 days.
Fonts, images and scripts
All fonts, images and scripts are served from this server. Loading the pages does not transmit any data to font or image services of other providers. The website sets no cookies and stores no data in your browser.
Contact by e-mail or phone
When you write to us or call us, we process your details (for example name, e-mail address, phone number and the content of your message) to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is § 6 (1) (c) KDG where your enquiry concerns taking part in Rejoice or supporting it, and § 6 (1) (g) KDG otherwise. We delete your data once it is no longer needed for your enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
Applying for Rejoice
When you apply, we process the documents you send us for the application procedure and, where applicable, for preparing and running the programme. This includes information about your religious affiliation (baptismal and confirmation certificates). The legal basis is § 6 (1) (c) KDG, and additionally § 11 (2) KDG for information about religious affiliation. If you do not take part, we delete the documents after the procedure ends, add the deadline, e.g. no later than six months afterwards.
Video from YouTube
On the home page you can watch a film about Rejoice. It only loads when you click “Play the film”. Only then is a connection made to YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Among other things, your IP address and information about your browser are transmitted to Google, possibly also to the USA. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (§ 6 (1) (b) KDG). Without a click, nothing is transmitted.
Links to other services
This website links to Instagram, Facebook, OpenStreetMap, the website of the Emmanuel Community and, for some events, registration forms of external providers (for example Microsoft Forms). These are plain links without embedded content. Data is only transmitted when you follow a link; from then on, the privacy terms of the respective provider apply.
Your rights
Under the KDG you have the right of access (§ 17), rectification (§ 18), erasure (§ 19), restriction of processing (§ 20), data portability (§ 22) and objection (§ 23). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. Please contact the controller or our data protection officer.
