A day in our life

Prayer, study, music and table fellowship. This is the rhythm of a day at the Josefsburg.

  1. Young people with raised hands in praise in a baroque church

    Morning: Start of the Day

Every morning after breakfast, we begin our day by developing our talents and skills, be it music, art or sound and technology. Afterwards, we come together with our fellow missionaries from all over the world for a time of praise and worship.

  2. Missionaries in Rejoice hoodies following a lecture in a classroom

    Mid-morning: Formation Time

From mid-morning, we delve into Catholic theology and other subjects that help us become missionary disciples and future leaders. The programme features instructors from all over the world who share their knowledge and expertise in their fields.

  3. The Rejoice band recording a session in a chapel with a camera in the foreground

    Afternoon: Creativity Time

After our communal lunch and daily chores, we have some free time. Then we put our talents together and experience the whole being greater than the sum of its parts, in band performances, songwriting sessions, or media and production, to give just a few examples.

  4. Three missionaries laughing together at the dinner table

    Evening: End of the Day

We bring all the day's activities before God in Eucharistic Adoration, which prepares us for the celebration of Holy Mass. Afterwards, we have dinner together. In the evening, we meet in our small sharing groups, take time for spiritual reading or enjoy free time together. Now and then we hold cultural evenings, sharing stories and dishes from our home countries.

The five pillars

The five pillars are the main focus of our year together. Everything we do falls under one of these guiding principles, and we strive to live each of them every day.

  • Mass, Adoration and silence

We are committed to deepening our relationship with God and with others in our community. Join us in exploring the beauty of the Liturgy and the power of the Sacraments. Daily Mass and Adoration are integral parts of our spiritual journey. We also seek to integrate moments of silence into our prayer lives to experience the boundless love and mercy of God.

  • One house, many countries

In choosing Rejoice, we embrace a full-time residential community life. During this year of living together, we encounter other young people from different cultures and backgrounds. Our shared living space helps us to foster a spirit of charity and humility. We will encounter both joys and difficulties, while creating meaningful, lifelong friendships.

  • Band, songwriting, media

Level up your skills and unleash your creativity to open the hearts of others. We explore new ways to channel our talents to reach people in a meaningful way, both individually and as a team. Performing as a band is a priority for us, because it is an excellent tool to fulfil our mission and connect with our audience.

  • Scripture, theology, apologetics

Our curriculum gives students a deep understanding of Scripture, Dogmatic Theology, Apologetics, Evangelization, Moral Theology and more. Our courses are taught by internationally recognised theologians and experts in their fields.

  • Schools, retreats, festivals

We gain pastoral experience on the ground through our international missions in both Christian and secular contexts, such as school visits, teen retreats, festivals and forums. Our house is also the backdrop for international events where we reach out to people of different ages, backgrounds and cultures.
