Living at Rejoice

Do students get holidays during the year?

Students have about two weeks of holiday after both Christmas and Easter. Towards the end of the programme, we spend a week-long holiday together.

Where will I live during my time at Rejoice?

You will live in the Josefsburg in Altötting, Bavaria, with access to several facilities, common rooms, a recording studio and a video studio. The accommodation offers single rooms with washbasins, with separate floors for men and women and communal showers and toilets on each floor.

Do I need health insurance?

Yes, you need health insurance that is valid in Germany and throughout the EU. It should cover all outpatient and inpatient treatment, including a trip to the dentist.

Costs and support

What does it cost?

The cost per month at Rejoice, including accommodation, food, teaching and missionary travel, is 1,200 euros. Like the Rejoice students before you, you are encouraged to build a network of donors who will help you reach this target. Finances are discussed during the interview, and support may be available in some cases.

Why fundraise for support?

Building a large group of donors means the cost is carried by many people. It is also a chance to connect with those in your circle and involve them in your missionary life.

After Rejoice

What is expected of me when the programme is over?

"Duc in altum", "Put out into the deep". St. Pope John Paul II reminded us of Jesus' words to St. Peter in relation to the New Evangelization. A formed Rejoice missionary is sent out with the fire to share the Gospel, equipped with new skills and knowledge to be a leader in the Church, in parishes, communities and dioceses. Most importantly, Rejoice students live with a profound sense of the need for prayer and a lifelong commitment to deepen their relationship with Christ, who sustains them in the mission.
